A Letter from the Chairman
-
Chairman of the Board
- City of Shawnee – Brian McDougal and his staff have created a list of projects that will maintain services to our citizens and position our community for growth. Their next challenge will be prioritizing these projects and identifying funding sources. The Chamber will be involved in this dialogue.
- Shawnee Schools – The School Board and outgoing Superintendent Marilyn Bradford are creating a long-range plan for the district. The Chamber will be supporting the creation of this plan and look for opportunities where we can be of assistance in improving our schools.
- Many other businesses, institutions, and organizations are poised for growth in our community. The Chamber will be active in communicating with City officials on how the business community feels growth should be supported.
Shawnee is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The Chamber will continue to support the Quality of Life issues related to code enforcement and beautification that makes our community more attractive to those who live here and our visitors. I am excited about the future of Shawnee and the resulting growth that will benefit our members and our community at large. Thank you for the opportunity to be your chairman. I look forward to an exciting 2011.
