Weapons & Warriors:The Art of Armaments

This exhibition includes arms and armor from several different cultures and civilizations including pieces ranging from 16th century Japanese armor, to African swords and spears, to a medieval crossbow. Art of Armaments discusses not only the practical nature of these weapons, but the skill of producing these pieces and the beauty therein. Humans have used weapons since Paleolithic times, improving the design and effectiveness of the pieces over the centuries. Weapons tell a story of the time and society in which they were created and used.

Young children, ages 3 - 6, will enjoy visiting the museum and making unique artworks with Mom, Dad, or a Grandparent. All of the enjoyable activities develop critical thinking and fine motor skills. Pre-Registration is REQUIRED. Classes are from 10:30am - 11:30am.
