Shawnee Schools, Colleges & Universities
The greater Shawnee area offers a well-rounded program of education. In addition to an excellent public school system, the community offers two private schools, two universities, technical training, six preschool facilities, and care and training for the physically and mentally handicapped.
Seven other colleges and universities, including the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University are located within sixty miles of our community.

Shawnee Wolves - State Five A Football Champions
Shawnee Public School District is the largest and most comprehensive school district in Pottawatomie County. It is comprised of five elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative school. Shawnee voters passed over 10 million dollars in bond issues in the last four years for improvements in educational facilities. These improvements include a new $9 million "state of the art" Middle School, $1.4 million on new sports facilities and $475,000 on elementary remodeling projects.
The Shawnee High School boasts over $1,000,000 each year in scholarship money to seniors and thirteen National Merit or Commended Scholars in the last six years. Convenient access to concurrent classes is available at both Okahoma Baptist University and St. Gregory's University. Academic Bowl Teams consistently rank with the best five A teams in the state.
Oklahoma Baptist University
A four-year accredited university offering more than 80 areas of study. OBU was recently recognized as "one of America's up and coming colleges" by the U.S. News and World Report.
St. Gregory's University
One of Oklahoma's oldest private colleges. A four-year accredited university with an outstanding record of preparing students to further their education.

Dedicated to developing a relationship of integrity and value with its industrial community. Their mission is to ensure that each business and industry in its district succeeds.
Family of Faith College
A pre-accredited, four year college. Offers two and four year programs in ministry, management, and education. Also serves area adults through the ADVANCE degree-completion program.
